Hello and good night to all!
The reason I chose to go “K&K Specialty Tropical Fruits” is because I was looking for a specific fruit, which was dragon fruit. Also, I chose to go to that specific supermarket because it is in China Town, which is very exciting, vibrant and they have a lot of choices as well!
The market pricing for the dragon fruit ranges from $2.50 lb. in the U.S and in Canada ranges from $3.99 lb. Also I forgot to mention in my video that dragon fruit is getting fairly popular within different regions of the world. It is being commercially cultivated countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Israel and also Sri Lanka.
When trying both the different types of dragon fruits (red flesh dragon fruit and the white flesh dragon fruit) to me it tasted very refreshing, juicy but yet very bland in flavour. It wasn't what I was expecting at all! To be honest just by looking at the fruit I imagined it would have been a little bit more sweet with a sour touch, like for example a kiwi. But overall between the two types of dragon fruit I tried I did prefer the white flesh dragon fruit, it was indeed a little bit more sweeter in my opinion.
If I were to cook this fruit I would make “Dragon Fruit boat”.
